End Day

February 24, 2008 by darkmush

Once again, same week as usual, but one day of rest on friday since I had to wake up early this morning!. I kinda just ended up doing nothing alone for most of friday, and slept kinda late at 2:00. Bad waste of time since I had to wake up early.

The reason I had to wake up early was for a tax return volunteer training session. I woke up, went there at 8:25, got settled into the place at 8:30 and was refreshed on some tax pointers that I learned in school. When 9:30 came around, I went out hungry for breakfast. I drove around the area looking for food and decided to finally settle for burger king at 9:38. The meal took a bit longer than usual to arrive and by the time i got my final piece, I was kinda late in returning to the tax-clinic-place. I was locked out of the elevators for a good half an hour before I decided to call the superintendentb whom called a worker whom gave me access to the 2nd floor (how resourceful i am =)). I learned a bunch and got bored when lunch came in and left for home.

Today I was invited to a cocktail party that was hosted at my house! To be honest, I guess I was kinda tipsy when I agreed to the idea last week, but it was pretty enjoyable being able to see all my friends and drink happily with no barfing or heavy duty nastiness to take care of =D. Tonight I get all the sleep I want, and I’m really looking forward to it. They say you don’t miss your water till the well runs dry, and well quite frankly I’m dying of thirst for water from the well of the sandman.

The drawings I Post usually aren’t done by me unless i say so. I kinda thought this was funny although its supposed to be sad =P, enjoy!

Party!

Same thing, over again

February 18, 2008 by darkmush

So pretty much this week was same/similar to last week. Work -> Brawl/Friends -> Work.  I wanted to shape up so on Monday i decided to start exercising on the bike machine thing that i have downstairs along with some push/sit ups each day. The plan worked very very well for me but for only a day, Monday, the day that I started on. I’ve had people over just about every day since then and didn’t get a chance to continue my workout =/. I haven’t given up hope on it, so i plan to get started on it soon enough.

Now that I’ve started working, making money, and got myself a credit card, I’ve began to have less discretion(it used to take me 3 months to decide on buying a bag of chips) when buying things from a store. I got a new case for my DS which i kinda screwed up on, component cables for the Wii/ps2, and new earphones cause i lost my old ones for quite some time now. I use my credit card on every purchase to “credit grind,” so I’ll be able to buy a house whenever I want to in the future bwhaaha.

I’ve been also looking around for a laptop this past week and Ive found that it is almost as hard as looking for a girlfriend, with many similar parallels. The major difference between the two is that a laptop doesn’t judge you as most girls would so it’s just a one sided search. I want a laptop thats sleek and sexy (not a big tank like monster), decent specs (versatile for both gaming and business), inexpensive (not a golddigger), and something that I’ll enjoy being with forever if possible <3 (which is pretty much never in the case of technology). With this criteria and a long time searching, I’ve narrowed my findings down to the Asus U3, or the Asus G1. I’m leaning more towards the U3 since its cheaper while the G1 is pretty much for gaming.

Smashing Week

February 10, 2008 by darkmush

Hmm, I haven’t seen this place for a while now, and I owe that all to the discovery of Smash Brothers Brawl by the pirates of the interwebs.

Starting in chronological order, Last weekend I went skiing/snowboarding with my friends at Blue Mountain. The bus ride there lasted 5 hours due to the blizzard, and we arrived at night, and to the open arms of 12 beers! On saturday I went skiing in the afternoon to nighttime, and learned that the passes that were included with our trip were only good for the daytime >:/ we went on the hills about 4-5 times, and that wasn’t enough to get rid of my fear of heights. On suday most of us decided to be daring and went snowboarding. After a few falls and rolls, I got the hang of snowboarding safely down the hill. With a few more falls and rolls, I learned that if you fall on your ass hard enough, the shock gets sent to your balls =/. Then we went home on a short bus ride, had dinner at jia jia lok, and then I went home to sauga. Much to my surprise, smash bros was out for download when i got home and by the time i got out of the brawl, I realized a week has passed.

This weekend consisted of more Smash Brothers, a happy chinese new years dinner at some spicy asian restaurant beside KFC at hurontario and eglington, some computer games till late night, a parking ticket, and finally some rest today.

I cleaned my room again today, and now it’s rid of its cardboard boxes, and clothes on the floor.

Tick Tock..

January 29, 2008 by darkmush

Hallo, yesterday after work I went with my friends to square one “say fong yut!” I actually ended up buying some new clothes there, yay!. I still need more though, 3 shirts to my wardrobe doesn’t exactly brighten the place up. I have finally “succumb to facebook” but I don’t plan on doing much on it, since it will probably take up a lot of time to find my friends from all around the world. I also realized that despite making fun of simple plan alot for their emo-song-ness, I actually enjoy listening to them! I hope that doesn’t brand me as a heretic though =O.

and i continue to sit here waiting for smash bros brawl and the weekend to roll around…

Into the depths of adulthood?

January 24, 2008 by darkmush

Hallo, I haven’t written anything in a while, probably due to the fact that there hasn’t really been anything happening in a while since last Friday and this Monday. I guess i could probably take those events and word it into something spectacular and wacky if i wasn’t too lazy to. On Friday I went to a Viet Bar and had a few beers, and on Monday my part time job officially became my full time job, go me!

I now somewhat understand what some of my friends mean when they say they have no time for games, I understand but I don’t believe in it. It feels as if my life is intertwined with work, I wake up to go to work, I come home and do little with what energy i have left from work waking up early, and the next day (work) just rolls around the corner. I seemed to have waltzed into a new chapter/way of life that is in unfamiliar territory to me, having been babied/spoiled for most my life. Note: My work is absolutely nothing compared to what my profession has in store for me, but the energy spent at it is probably the same amount I’ll spend in any full-time situation.

With that being said, its not all too bad. You realize how special it is to chill everyday after work “even if it’s at Timmies for an hour or so” with your friends, you get paid alot of money for working so much, and theres no need to “get used to” school hours when it rolls around. I understand that if this is viewed in the wrong way lives will begin to suck, and youth will be zapped from the lives of workers, but I refuse to accept this since I believe I will be eternally young.

I ate a whopper combo at 8 yesterday, it was so yummy it made me pass out from itis at 9 until morning. I have yet to go through my ancient family pictures that I have dug up in my basement, but I will eventually =).

I haven’t prepared any pictures for today so here, have a row of cans.

Three steps forward, two steps back

January 18, 2008 by darkmush

Hallo, I have been recently working at a part time small business (seems rather full time-ish so far) called Tai Pan Lighting since Tuesday this week. I do random things around the office that are requested of me, and everyone there is friendly and fun even though they’re around my mom’s age and have sons and daughters around my age as well.

On the other hand, apparently the skill tests and interview from Accountemps only got me “in” and hasn’t landed me remotely near a job. I called waterloo branch and the guy there is now looking for a job for me but he can’t guarantee a job that fills my full work term requirements =/.

My “anime-nerd” side (others call this Benjamin Hsu) has rejoiced as my shipment of goods has FINALLY arrived after the long 3 month wait. In it includes volumes 1-21 of getbackers for me, and some plushies, a kon hat, a messenger bag, and other stuff that my other friends wanted to get.

In the future I plan to doodle, and have random creative outbursts as i have done so in the past so that this blog will become more balanced between actual blog stuff and random postings of ting tingz.

I’ve been too lazy to take pics lately, and since I’m too lazy/tired to actually search for any, Ill post a pic of myself from Japan with my “viet haircut” and my buddy Mr. Ice Cream.

A bricklayer can’t finish his jobs if his bricks keep dissapearing!

January 14, 2008 by darkmush

Hallo! Soo.. good news first! On friday I went in for an interview/test at Accountemps and it was actually pretty fun. I had to first fill in a bunch of sheets which were kinda boring, then I did some accounting tests on the computer which reminded me of school. I was tested on my knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable, typing letters, and typing numbers. Overall I scored pretty well on these examinations, this, paired with my willingness to work in waterloo leads me to a possible account job pretty soon! Yay!!

The whole weekend was alright too, on friday we learned of how fun playing tetris against each other was and thus pitted us in a large scale war of crushing one another’s egos with falling bricks that disappear whenever they form a line.

Saturday started for me at 12:30 pm and I played Patapon (go search it, its cute and fun!) through the day on my friend’s PSP until everyone else awoke at 5:00pm. All you can eat to make back your money sushi, extreme loafting, old school SNES games, McDonalds at 5:00, and looking for jumper cables to start a friend’s car filled the rest of the night until I went to bed at around 6:30 AM.

Today began in the dark at 6:00 PM and was pretty awkward as i saw the sun rise when i went to bed but woke up to the moon in the sky. I went to dinner with a few friends at Phoenix, My friend and I shared a lover’s meal ($18.00 for 2 people and we couldn’t even finish it), while another ate a kid’s meal. Rest of the night was spent loafting and playing 1v1 tetris until i got home at 12:30 haha.

Soo.. pictures! I have one that my friend took of his drawing, and some random one from japan:

So close yet so far away

January 10, 2008 by darkmush

Sooo instead of following tradition yesterday, I ended up going downtown with a few friends to check out Ryerson University. On the way there I saw this very cute statue of two characters while coming off the highway. What I learned after walking 10 minutes in Ryerson was the fact that I was actaually in Ryerson and not in Toronto city anymore. You see, Ryerson is well tucked and secretly hidden in the middle of Toronto without any boundaries from the outside world unlike Waterloo. To me it seems more like a “district” in Toronto than an actually university (shows how very little of the world i know).

I attended my friend’s business communication class and shortly after, was kicked out from it along with my other friends (I think the teacher drinks haterade). And then the rest of the day happened: went back to sauga from toronto, ate all you can eat sushi, did nothing for a long time, and then back to home sweet home.

Today was more like any other day, applied for jobs in the morning, did nothing till night yay. I applied to jobs through a staffing agency recently called Accountemps and to my surprise, I received a call from them for an interview tomorrow! No time for me to get happy yet, as this is standard procedure for every applicant =(. So hopefully through this company I will be employed either in mississauga, toronto, or waterloo for some accounting position.

Time for pictures! I know its kinda lame as most of them are in, around, and about my house but I’ll start taking my camera out from now on. Pictures today are the before and after Ben Hsu’s magnificent room cleaning service.

Bye!

(note. i do not play puzzle pirates anymore so just ignore the banner if u still see it brooding down there)
